The Breakfast Club Letter

The Breakfast Club Letter

One of the best teenage movies ever made, The Breakfast Club defined a generation. The story of Saturday detention, that everyone loathes, you watch as these 5 students suffer the consequences of their actions. Outside of this day, the five of them would have never spoken to one another, yet they found their common bond. If you have never seen it, you need to take an afternoon and watch it, you won’t be disappointed. I follow The Breakfast Club in Facebook, and that is where I got this picture. I posted the image into the thread where I found it. We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But, we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But, what we found out is that each one of us is: a brain…and an athlete…and a basket case…a princess…and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club About Thomas StrubingerHusband, Father, Foodie, Cardinal Fan. I am just an average joe, trying to make my way in this world. Why should always try your kids drinks in a restaurant

Why should always try your kids drinks in a restaurant

Well it happened again… A toddler was served Sangria in a “Texas Roadhouse” restaurant in Ashville North Carolina. This is the second time in recent years, where alcohol was served to young children. The other time was margarita instead of lemonade, the point being if the parent had just taken a sip when the glass came to the table, the entire episode could of been avoided. My wife and I now make it a point to always try our children’s drinks, at establishments that serve alcohol. The two seconds it takes, is worth it for the well being of my children. This family was out to celebrate a 25th birthday, and now it will be tarnished with the memory of their drunk 2 year old.   About Thomas StrubingerHusband, Father, Foodie, Cardinal Fan. Sam Simon loses battle with Cancer

Sam Simon loses battle with Cancer

Sim Simon one of the co-creators with Matt Groening of “The Simpsons” has died today. Mr. Simon lost a long hard fought battle with cancer, and is best known for his work on the first 13 episodes of the Simpsons. Many of the writers who worked the early days, considers him to have given the heart and soul to the characters. He made them three dimensional by developing their personalities, and not going from one skit to another. As the longest running series on TV, this small fact had to have had played a roll. The Sam Simon Foundation After he left The Simpsons, the checks kept rolling in, and the vegan decided to start a foundation. The Sam Simon Foundation, feeds the homeless, fights for animal rights, and offers service animals for those in need. Millions of Simon’s own money has been used to fund this foundation, and countless animals have been given new life thanks to it. Little Caesars Bacon Wrapped Pizza

Little Caesars Bacon Wrapped Pizza

Daym Drops give Little Caesars New Bacon Wrapped pizza – “Five all Day” So I had never heard of this guy before, and as I am scrolling through my news a friend of mine shared this video. Her title “I ❤ this guy. I suddenly want Little Ceaser’s pizza, and I don’t even care for bacon! He’s my new “review” guy.” I highly respect her opinion, so I had to see what he was all about. Daym Drops Daym Drops is a 30-40 year old black foodie… Using the term “foodie” very loosely, and possibly not in the same context as others might think it should be used. I use it because he likes to eat, and is a food reviewer. What makes him unique is the fact he makes his videos with a dash cam in the drivers seat of his car, and most of his reviews are of food from fast food chain restaurants. His video catalog includes hand held foods from Burger King, Chick-fil-A, KFC, Arby’s, Wendy’s, and Carl Jr. as well as a few places I hadn’t heard of, as well as a couple marked homemade… (still eaten in the car, LOL) He is a very charismatic gentleman, with good humor about him. I am sure you will find this video funny as well as appetizing… About Thomas StrubingerHusband, Father, Foodie, Cardinal Fan. I am just an average joe, trying to make my way in this world. X-Rays Kiss & Dance To show everybody the same inside

X-Rays Kiss & Dance To show everybody the same inside

At first I didn’t know what to make of the Ad Councils latest campaign, but by the end of it, I was smiling. Take the time to watch the whole thing, I think you will appreciate that you did. The Film shows that Love Has No Labels. Inside everyone is the same. The Ad Council set up a stage with a giant screen that displayed a life size x-ray of the people moving behind it. When they step out from behind the screen, you will be shocked by what appears. It was fun watching the skeletons having a good time on the screen kissing and dancing. from the YouTube.com Description: Published on Mar 3, 2015 http://lovehasnolabels.com/ While the vast majority of Americans consider themselves unprejudiced, many of us unintentionally make snap judgments about people based on what we see—whether it’s race, age, gender, religion, sexuality, or disability. This may be a significant reason many people in the U.S. report they feel discriminated against. Subconscious prejudice—called “implicit bias”—has profound implications for how we view and interact with others who are different from us. It can hinder a person’s ability to find a job, secure a loan, rent an apartment, or get a fair trial, perpetuating disparities in American society. The Love Has No Labels campaign challenges us to open our eyes to our bias and prejudice and work to stop it in ourselves, our friends, our families, and our colleagues. Rethink your bias at lovehasnolabels.com. About Thomas StrubingerHusband, Father, Foodie, Cardinal Fan. I am just an average joe, trying to make my way in this world.
