Sim Simon one of the co-creators with Matt Groening of “The Simpsons” has died today. Mr. Simon lost a long hard fought battle with cancer, and is best known for his work on the first 13 episodes of the Simpsons. Many of the writers who worked the early days, considers him to have given the heart and soul to the characters. He made them three dimensional by developing their personalities, and not going from one skit to another. As the longest running series on TV, this small fact had to have had played a roll.

The Sam Simon Foundation

After he left The Simpsons, the checks kept rolling in, and the vegan decided to start a foundation. The Sam Simon Foundation, feeds the homeless, fights for animal rights, and offers service animals for those in need. Millions of Simon’s own money has been used to fund this foundation, and countless animals have been given new life thanks to it.
