I stopped by the beach the other morning, and as the ocean was churning, the air was alive. While the sights and the sounds of the beach typically evoke emotions, on this particular day a third sense was awoken. The salt water and the bottom of the ocean could also be smelled… It made me reflect on my own life, and dredge up the past. Like the ocean bringing the bottom to the surface, I too need to deal with what has been suppressed to great depths.
